SOMETHING BORROWED – circular economy

The future Pina Bausch Centre and the Szenografie-Bund are collaborating with the Wuppertal Institute for Climate, Environment and Energy to offer four workshops in 2023 and 2024. The overarching theme is sustainability in stage and costume design – SOMETHING OLD, SOMETHING NEW, SOMETHING BORROWED, SOMETHING BLUE.

Something Borrowed will deal with innovative ideas towards a better circular economy in stage and costume design. In interaction between technical, theoretical and practical parts the participants will explore this time interfaces of material-3D-printing, VR as a tool for communication and design as well as new efforts for the administration of material, pools and storing in the arts.

Lutz Hofmann, for many years Technical Director of Theater der Jungen Generation Dresden and manager in sustainability, will be the host for this residence. The program refers to all interested theatre makers, to people working on sustainability, and other experts in the arts, in technic, design, architecture, science, crafts, that wish to get more knowledge and exchange in this field. No special requirement needed.

The workshops are part of the project “A holistic approach to the Pina Bausch Centre”, which is supported by the German Federal Cultural Foundation’s fund Zero – Climate Neutral Art and Culture Projects. Co-funded by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media. Further support comes from the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia and the Sparkasse Wuppertal, in collaboration with Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch and Pina Bausch Foundation.

SOMETHING BORROWED – Kreislaufwirtschaft

am 07. März 2024 um 17 Uhr
im Schauspielhaus und zukünftigen Pina Bausch Zentrum (Bundesallee 260, 42103 Wuppertal).

Wie es sich im Rahmen der vergangenen Workshops etabliert hat, möchten wir Ihnen auch bei SOMETHING BORROWED zum Ende der Workshop-Zeit die Türen des Schauspielhauses für Sie öffnen und die Vernetzung im Green Culture Lab Wuppertal fortsetzen.

Der Projektpartner Szenografie-Bund entwickelt dazu neben dem Workshop ein Modellvorhaben, das sich im Besonderen auf die Entwicklung einer Materialbibliothek und die Digitalisierung und Zusammenführung der vorhandenen Fundi in einer gemeinsamen Informationslogistik stützt. Dieses möchten wir Ihnen am 07. März ab 17 Uhr vorstellen. Zudem erhalten Sie Einblicke in die Ergebnisse der Workshop-Woche. In Tischgesprächen an unserer langen Tafel, die wir im Workshop SOMETHING OLD aus einem abgespielten Bühnenbild gebaut haben, soll im Nachgang über die Möglichkeiten der Implementierung von Kreisläufen im Kulturbetrieb anhand eines Beispiels diskutiert werden. Abschließend laden wir sie herzlich zu einem gemeinsamen kleinen Abendessen ein.
