Accompanying the guest performance of EXPOSURE by the Urban Arts Ensemble Ruhr, Pottporus e.V. is offering a dance workshop for dancers with previous experience and/or professionals under the direction of Rauf Yasit.
Immerse yourself in this intensive workshop with the visionary Rauf ‘Rubberlegz’ Yasit. In his signature experiential format, you will learn tools, patterns and movement principles that are applicable across genres-ideal for choreography and improvisation. Explore selected pieces from Rauf's existing repertoire and learn new techniques, concepts and patterns that will help you move with confidence-whether on the floor, on your feet and hands, or experimenting with new ideas in your own practice. Accompanied by Matt Luck, Rauf and Matt will guide you through their unique partner work, both centred around fundamental principles of fluid collaboration. Expand your dynamic range, refine your coordination and find innovative ways to integrate all of these skills into your own creative process.

Rauf Yasit Rauf Yasit is a choreographer, dancer, and visual artist, known internationally in the dance scene under his stage name ‘Rubberlegz’. Born in Celle, he now lives and works in Los Angeles. As a dancer, he has created his own distinctive style, rooted in B-boying and further developed with elements of contemporary dance, yoga movements, and animated film influences. Rauf has collaborated with choreographers such as William Forsythe and Malou Airaudo for Pottporus, and has performed in productions at the Opéra National de Paris and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. As a child, his father, a folk dance teacher, introduced him to traditional dances. It wasn't long before he discovered his passion for breaking. A self-taught B-Boy, he began refining his skills in 1998. His mentor Maxim aptly nicknamed him ‘Rubberlegz’ for his extraordinary ability to contort his body into unimaginable shapes and positions. Rauf ‘Rubberlegz’ Yasit gained international recognition for his unique style. For years, he competed and judged at events worldwide. In 2007, he expanded his repertoire to include performances in contemporary dance productions. Rubberlegz was awarded Best Dancer by Danza&Danza Magazine for his dance language, which dissolves boundaries between genres. Today, he performs globally, offers workshops, and choreographs works such as CRACKS, the acclaimed debut production of the Urban Arts Ensemble Ruhr — the first urban arts dance ensemble initiated and led by Pottporus - House of Hip Hop Culture in the Ruhr area.
Matt Luck Matt Luck is a contemporary dancer and choreographer from Los Angeles, California. He is currently performing in the touring programme Friends of Forsythe and is working on a duet with Rauf ‘Rubberlegz’ Yasit, who curated the programme together with William Forsythe. As a member of Micaela Taylor's TL Collective, he has performed in selected works that premiered at Jacob's Pillow, Springboard Danse Montréal, and the Wallis Center for the Performing Arts. His other engagements include performances at the Academy Awards, Taylor Swift’s performance at the American Music Awards, Glee, VILAR PAC, Perrotin, and others. Luck has produced stage and film pieces for the band Figs Vision and performed works by Adam Linder. He currently trains with somaticist Narelle Benjamin and continues to teach intensive courses both domestically and internationally, including at the CLI Conservatory, Loyola Marymount University, and SoulEscape.
