MESOKOSMOS is a performative installation that interlaces voices and materials from the Wadden Sea into a cosmology of plants, animals, bacteria, humans, and planets. We immerse ourselves in a fluid space of video, sound, natural materials, and performance, creating a condensed experiential environment that rethinks and questions the diverse relationships between the organisms of the Wadden Sea and us as living beings.

What can we learn from the dynamic interplay in this critical zone to transform our existence with planet Gaia and all its organisms into a sensitive and resilient future?

In MESOKOSMOS, Anja Plonka and Rasmus Nordholt-Frieling present the results of their artistic research in the Wadden Sea. This dynamic ecosystem, with its tidal rhythms dictated by the moon and sun and its diverse life forms ranging from Japanese berry seaweed to Pacific oysters, makes the world's processuality perceptible and reminds us that our lives are intertwined with dynamic ecosystems.
