ORGANISMO

Recommended from ± 5 years and upwards

Maraña transforms the stage in ORGANISMO into a unique habitat of colors, materials, movements and sounds. The performative installation is a huge organism, beautiful like an underwater landscape full of sea anemones, archaic like our primal fears, enchanting like a psychedelic fairytale world made out of crochet. It lives and pulsates, ceaselessly spawning new colorful creatures that interact, explore, merge, submerge and dissolve until something new is born somewhere else. Amazing! Sensual and unusual, Maraña combines circus acrobatics with monsters in a world of wool, taking the audience on an adventure through the complexities and layers of the most basic elements of existence.

Maraña (Spanish: knotted) describes an organism consisting solely of wool, thread and yarn, which takes the form of a multidimensional, woven patchwork. It is a creature that grows and takes on different shapes with every stitch and knot. Maraña stretches horizontally, vertically and in the third dimension, taking the viewer into an organic, haptic experience of color, light, space, dance, body, movement and breath.
