Education Day as part of the Voluntary Services in Culture and Education in NRW

The Pina Bausch Foundation, the Pina Bausch Centre under construction, and the Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch are hosting an Education Day for participants of the Voluntary Social Year in Culture and Education (FSJ Kultur) in NRW.

The day begins with movement at the future Pina Bausch Centre, guided by long-time ensemble dancer and dance educator Silvia Farias Heredia. How does it feel to dance something created by someone else? And how can I invent my own movements? Through hands-on experience and dialogue, participants will gain insights into Pina Bausch’s work and explore Wuppertal as a key city in her artistic journey. Where did she work? How do dancers rehearse her pieces today? And what does the future hold for Wuppertal, dance, and Pina Bausch?

A day of exploration, discovery, and reflection on dance, art, and the cultural spaces of tomorrow—open to all FSJ Kultur participants, with or without prior dance experience.
