The Silent Waltz of the Many
Sun 22.03.26, 18:00-20:00
Pina Bausch Zentrum under construction, Bundesallee 260, Wuppertal
The Silent Waltz of the Many is a participatory dance-theatre project bringing together people from Wuppertal, with and without international family history, from 18+ and all physical abilities. If you have recently arrived in Wuppertal or have personal or family migration experiences, you are especially welcome.
This free workshop introduces the artistic project The Silent Waltz of the Many, which choreographer and dancer Francesco Vecchione is planning for May 2026. The participants can be part of the project. In this project, the city and its people join professional artists in a shared creative space that grows into performances, dialogue, and collective storytelling.
The workshop is an opportunity to meet, learn about the project, ask questions, and spend time together exploring simple creative tasks in an open and welcoming atmosphere.
In these workshops, your body, your story, and your imagination become part of a shared artistic creation. Rather than observing art from the outside, we will step directly into the creative act, approaching the workshop as a shared playground. Participants will be guided through a gentle warm-up and somatic preparation, followed by creative practices that generate movement, text, and performative material — working with imagination, memory, listening, and presence. Participants are warmly invited to bring their own artistic interests or forms of expression, if they wish.
No dance experience is needed.
You can move, speak, observe, imagine, or simply be present — every form of participation is valuable and welcome.
Led by choreographer Francesco Vecchione, these workshops create a safe and playful space to explore movement, memory, identity, and belonging through improvisation, dialogue, and collective creation.
Curious minds, all ages, and all physical abilities are warmly invited.
Participation is free of charge..
