Vernissage – with music, speeches and performances by Julie Shanahan, Wigabriel Soto Eschebach, Jean Laurent Sasportes, Mihara Keizuke, Malou Airaudo, Thusnelda Mercy, and music by Roberto Graiff and RitalPop.

More than just an opening: long-time companions of the artist share personal insights and tell stories about the essence of Sieczkarek's fascinating art. An evening that touches all the senses and invites special encounters.

Legends and personalities from the world of dance: Julie Shanahan, Wigabriel Soto Eschebach, Jean Laurent Sasportes and Mihara Keizuke bring Mark Sieczkarek's visionary work to life through performative insights gained from many years of collaboration.

World-class music from Paris: the RitalPop ensemble, conducted by Roberto Graiff, brings a unique blend of gypsy jazz, folk and Portuguese sounds. The ensemble includes Luc Desroy (gypsy jazz guitar), Jacques Fatus (classical guitar), Isabelle Morelli (folk guitar, clavietta, Portuguese guitar), Hubert Otten (double bass) and Chrystel Wu (vocals).

Malou Airaudo, long-time dancer with the Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch and director of the Institute for Contemporary Dance at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen, will dance a duet for Mark with her daughter, dancer and choreographer Thusnelda Mercy.
