On the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the Pina Bausch Fellowship for Dance and Choreography, the Pina Bausch Foundation and Kunststiftung NRW invite you to the Fellowswhip Future Lab on the future of artistic practice in Wuppertal. In the anniversary year 2026, the fellowship programme will deliberately pause to create space for reflection, exchange, and collective learning.

From 22 to 24 May 2026, fellows from different generations, international guests, and members of the local dance and cultural scene will come together to share experiences from ten years of the fellowship and to jointly reflect on how artistic practice shifts, opens up, and transforms under changing political, social, and economic conditions. Within the Future Lab, fellows from previous cohorts will shape the programme through keynotes, performative contributions, and discussion formats. Insights generated during the Future Lab will inform both the development of the emerging Pina Bausch Center and the future orientation of the fellowship programme.

The event will take place at the former Schauspielhaus / future Pina Bausch Center in Wuppertal.

The Fellowship Future Lab of the Pina Bausch Foundation and the Kunststiftung NRW is supported as a contribution to the preparation of the Pina Bausch Centre with funds from the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media, the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia and the City of Wuppertal.
