Loneliness is a chameleon. It hides behind language barriers, disguises itself as social anxiety, or reveals itself in the quiet seclusion of introversion. But no matter what face it wears – the feeling of standing alone remains the same.

The international art collective Coll3ktiv explores precisely this tension in its latest project, Love the Moment. In a world that demands constant connectivity, the ensemble poses the radical question: Must loneliness necessarily be negative? Or does accepting silence offer the chance to love the moment in a completely new way?

The instinctive impulse when faced with loneliness is often to flee. But what happens when we resist this urge? When we do not look away, but face it head-on?

Coll3ktiv invites us to question the weight of isolation through a living, hybrid organism of musical, performative and media improvisation. It is about finding the courage, in difficult times, to pause and look at oneself in the mirror – without a mask, but with the hope of finding peace in the here and now.

Pina Bausch Centre under construction works in 2026 on the theme community. Loneliness is its antithesis. Is there such a thing as happy solitude, and is loneliness merely a threatening feeling? What do spaces for community look like, where we can be fully at one with ourselves whilst also being with others, as a young student at BUW put it?

Join us on this journey between self-perception and how others perceive us. Let us discover together whether it is possible not only to endure the moment, but to truly love it.
