UNDERGROUND IX presents seven new choreographies by dancers from the Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch ensemble, each with a maximum length of 17 minutes, involving 13 dancers from the ensemble.

Underground IX presents choreographies by Frank Willens, Julian Stierle, Julie Anne Stanzak, Michael Strecker, Naomi Brito, Nicholas Losada, and Taylor Drury.

The Underground series, which premiered during the PINA40 festival and has since taken place eight times at various locations across the city, was last staged in 2019.

UNDERGROUND IX / NEUE CHOREOGRAFIEN is supported as a contribution to the preparation of the Pina Bausch Centre with funds from the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media, the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia and the City of Wuppertal.
