Right in the heart of the city, a place is emerging that breathes. A space that is becoming greener, more vibrant and shaped by the people who use it.
Around the Pina Bausch Centre, we want to try out exactly that: How can a sealed-off, underused urban space become a place where people and nature feel equally at home?
With the URBAN WILDERNESS project, Neue Effizienz gemeinnützige GmbH is launching an open participatory experiment together with the Pina Bausch Centre under construction. Here, we will plant, build, experiment, discard and rethink. Together with interested and committed fellow citizens, we want to develop ideas on how a climate-adapted, lively and social space can emerge.
It’s not just about greening: it’s about new forms of coexistence in the city. And about the question: how do we shape our city together? Urban and wild!
To kick things off, you can look forward to inspiring insights from architecture, landscape planning and civil society projects.
Above all, however, it’s about sharing ideas:
What ideas do you have for this space?
What makes a good public space?
How can a square be transformed into a community-driven space?
URBAN WILDERNESS thrives on the involvement of many people who contribute their thoughts, have their say and help shape the project.
The approaches we develop and test together can later be incorporated into the permanent design of the site.
