Pina Bausch was a great artist who to this day remains a touchstone for the people who worked with her or who refer to her in their current work. The director Horst Konietzny had long conversations with many members of her ensemble about what it was like to work in her universe, to collaborate with her and with other associated artists. The conversations were about how they as individuals experienced the creative work and the process of creation, but also about getting closer to the people who are dedicated to making her work live on.
The resulting audio recordings are intimate, lively and idiosyncratic snapshots of the dancers’ inner lives and imaginations. They offer a unique listening experience: a multi-layered audio installation in the oval pavilion in the Sculpture Park, in which voices, stories, atmospheres and spatialised mobile sound structures by the musician Dine Doneff combine to create a moving audio installation.
A production by the Tanztheater Wuppertal in collaboration with the Sculpture Park Waldfrieden
